Changes to my Study programme

Hi hi! The topic today its Changes to my Study programme! Well all I’m gonna talk it’s on my career perspective. So here we go!

In all courses I have learned new elements that help me in my professional training, whether theoretical or manual, but I would add more complex digitization courses to the basic ones that exist today as part of the compulsory mesh, with uses of other programs as tools. For those of us who want to dedicate ourselves to that part of art.

In another area, it would be good for students to be able to access the courses they want regardless of the quotas that always lead to the surplus if you were unlucky, perhaps doing more courses in parallel in those most in demand.

The academic load of the first years is very heavy, enormous, it could be said, because it forces very young people to carry out or be creative in many areas at least in my career, weeks without sleep, stress and face the subjectivity of art that. That subjectivity is reflected in that the teachers can give you a bad grade despite doing something with a lot of effort that met basic criteria and that is still not enough. This situation generates great frustration and because most of us are in our 20’ is very difficult to understand.

If we add to this that one does not come with prior school training in these areas. It becomes even more complicated generating a lot of stress.

In my faculty, each workshop has its own problem, for example in ceramics there was the maintenance of the kilns and it has other problems such as faucets that do not close and other infrastructure things.

Many rooms are raining and the bathrooms are scratched, but the latter is the responsibility of the students, which reminds us that we are also part of the university community and how we take care of our environment.

Technology is little incorporated in teaching methodologies, so with the pandemic it was necessary to improvise; it is assumed that from now on this should be improve. What we learn from this experience must be assessed to make the changes that are required.

Well, I think it’s everyone works to build a better space, so hope we can!

Postgraduate Studies

 hi hi everyone!

The topic today it's about my academic future!

Well, right now I’m finishing studying art, so the opportunity of doing a postgraduate it's really near, so well; since I want to write and illustrate books for children, I would like to do three things, learn about children’s psychology, learning writing and deepening my knowledge of illustration, even if I learnt a lot studying art, I think I still have a lot to learn.

I want to support to children in different ways like loving the different families that they can have (that aren’t the conventional), also the different fears and problems that children can have. I think that books can help to create imagination, thing that for kids is really important in their daily lives. That’s why I want to learn Child psychology and writing.

I think it would be easier doing it online, because I can do it from home and study in any university I want, but I think it would be a great experience to travel and know other cultures! I would love to study in Japan or Spain. To Japan because I would like to perfect my drawing since they have a variety of aesthetics that I like a lot, but since I get worried for the language difference and distance from home I think that Spain is a good alternative; it has a good illustration school too.

Let´s hope that I can finish my career soon.

My future job!

Hi hi everyone!

This time the topic it’s future job!

Since I was a child I have always liked to draw, gradually I discovered where I wanted to go with that, that is how I found illustration. I have been practicing various techniques. I started drawing on paper, then digitizing, making needle felting and little by little ceramics. For that, I studied plastic arts, to expand my knowledge and skills, and I specialized in ceramics to be able to make figures of my products! I find that the more art forms I know the better. But to continue expanding my knowledge and having new experiences I would love to travel! Especially to Spain and Japan where there is a lot of knowledge and workshops in relation to illustration.

The job I want to do in the future is to be a children's illustrator! I would like to make stories illustrated by me, also writing them.  I hope to do a child psychology course to complement it. I want to specialize in stories of different types of family, separated parents, homoparental families, living with grandparents,to achieve normalization of the various types of families that exist. I also really like the horror universe, I like to mix monsters with sweet dreams, the fantasy, both are part of childhood.

I would like to be a FreeLancer and be the person in charge of what products to make in the children's and young people's market. I want to have my workshop in my house, it is more comfortable.
Being an illustrator I would also make dolls with my products, until now I only know how to make needle felting and ceramics, but later I would love to learn how to make fabric stuffed animals.

Today I make drawings to orders (commissions) and with that I earn money more often; I have also participated in illustrators fairs where I sell illustrations and needle felting dolls. As I am a student so I haven’t been able to dedicate myself fully to that. I hope to continue learning so, one day be known for my products.
